I went with Reach, but I will say I haven't played many FPS games this generation.

Missed my favorite: Halo 3 (multiplayer was special)

So Killzone 3 (after Halo 3 the first with something special in multiplayer)

I loved Half-Life 2 but The Orange Box is more about the absolute fantastic Portal than Half-Life 2... and Portal is not a convencional FPS.

The PC version of TF2 is incredible - but I heard that the 360 version isn't quite the same (?)

Hmmm...That's sooo tough. Halo 3 & Modern Warfare changed gaming but feel a little outdated now. Killzone 2 brought gorgeous visuals. KZ3 is not worthy of winning this poll although it was a great game. Reach was nice but didn't feel as impactful as Halo 3. Any COD's after MW are just no. Crysis 2 was a great experience but I cannot put it at number 1. Bulletstorm was a F****** joke I don't even know why it is on this list. Battlefield Bad Company was pretty sweet, but BF3 will rock the Bad Company series. I never bought into the Bioshock hype; bought and beat both but wasn't blown away. Borderlands was neat but too reptitive (shitty ending as well). I enjoyed F.E.A.R 2 but not worthy of a spot here. Homefront was AWFUL (well relative to expectations). Medal of Honour was meh. Singularity was good for low budget. Resistance 1 deserves a spot as it was very impactful, whereas 2 was underwhelming.

So overall I don't know. We need a scale on hwo to rate these; impact, story, visuals, overall, as my answer changes depending on our criteria

Good God, I have lost all faith in gamers.

If you're including Orange Box as one game, I don't see how anyone could vote for ANYTHING else. It has one of the best FPS of all time (Half-Life 2) plus two of that game's expansions, it has one of the best multi-player experiences of the past ten years (TF2), AND it has the crowning FPS achievement of this generation, Portal, bundled into it.

There are plenty of other great FPS this generation but none that offer the length, quality, and multi-faceted gameplay options of Orange Box.

Just what I was going to say.

Taken as a single purchase, Orange Box literally blows every thing else on the list out the water.  A larger - and arguably much better - SP campaign than any of the others with HL2 plus both Episodes.  Industry leading - and award winning - innovation in Portal as well as some great MP options.  For quality/content combined no other single title comes close.

Mind you polls always skew to more recent titles just like film polls, then later on the young predenters start dropping down polls/best off lists like flies leaving the true classics in their higher positions, and this is definately looking like one of those polls.

personally its Halo 3 for me, but the Orange Box, Bioshock , COD4 and Borderlands are all great games for sure

This gen, I really enjoy playing both Resistance 1 and 2 follow by CoD 4 and Battlefield: BC.

He is questioning the skewed results with so far only one person I have seen personally and it was after D21lewis comment, come on now, why even bother put threads in if it is going to get this heavily skewed. Absolute bollocks.
