Tales of Vesperia for Games on Demand is just the beginning

Namco Bandai thinks digital distribution services are a great way of making "niche" games available in regions where stock is scarce or entirely depleted.

The publisher released Tales of Vesperia - "far and away the most refined and beautiful Tale Namco has ever told", in the words of our review - to the Games on Demand service last week. You can get it here for £19.99.

"The 'Tales Of" series is a very important franchise for Namco Bandai, and making the game available for Games on Demand is important to allow gamers the chance to find it when limited boxed copies can be found at retail," commented Lee Kirton, marketing director for Namco Bandai UK. 

The publisher is monitoring fan feedback for clues as to where to take the series from here.

"We have great plans for the Tales series and we are truly focused on listening to the communties and their wants - especially through Twitter feeds, Facebook, forums etc.

"We are also looking into new ways of releasing great titles like this."

JRPGs are an increasingly scarce commodity on Xbox 360, so if you have a fondness for stats and big-eyed heroines, you don't want to miss this.

I don't trust Namco until I have the game in my hands...

to Namco how about you make another tales game that exclusive to 360 so i can laugh at japan how crazy it was when tales of vesperia was released

DD for ToV was a needed move without a doubt. Now everyone can play this wonderfull game without the need to sell the own house to get one copy.

Namco can get good profit from this, and of course, Tales can get a bigger fanbase.

But can this mean the next Tales will also be released on Xbox 360? Can Tales of Graces F be on Xbox 360 in a future release?

Man, i hope so. I really love this series. :/

Interesting, however they dont seem to consider Europe in that strategy, which is annoying from my point of view.

So this means more Tales on 360?

hopefully more tales gets released on 360 the console is losing its rpg king title. and anyway i need more fo my favorite series.

I'm hopeful that Dark Souls will be more successful than Demon's Souls here in Europe and encourage Namco to release the Tales games here. i think they will probabily come here eventually.

Namco has chopped the head of the Tales series and is allowing it to wonder willy nillies on consoles and regions everywhere. Where is my Tale of Grace F? Where is my PS3 enhanced ToV? Bah!

Try bringing a fucking tales game to the ps3 in the UNITED STATES for a change.  Its mind blowing that were this far into the gen and us/eu ps3 only owners have been left completely in the dark.  Its complete horse shit.
