Forums - Sony Discussion - Anyone still play MAG or downloaded the demo?

I am downloading the demo now and am wondering what it offers. Decription makes it sound like it is the full game only capped off at level 8. Is this true?

I was one of the people who bought it at launch but later sold it because I had no headset and it required a ton of teamwork but I am probably going to buy it again because I finally bought a headset, the community is still pretty strong and finding a game is still very easy.

Not to mention that I have a friend at work who plays it and 3 others who are buying it this weekend since it is only ~$20.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Its not as good as it was on launch. However if you have friends and don't care for $20 then go for it, but me personally am very disappointed by the changes they have brought upon the game through updates.

If I had the option I wouldn't buy it, I would just get Socom 4. Or anything else, but if you did like the demo you may like it and the community although its not as big as I would have liked is still there.

It is easy to say "Just get Socom 4" but not everyone wants to play a TPS, let alone pay $60.

I don't even know if I would even like Socom 4. Yeah my Killzone 3 copy came with a beta code, but when I tried to use it for the first time the other day it said my code was invalid or already in use...

Also about the community, it really doesn't matter if the community is 1,000,000 or 5,000, all that matter is if I can just pick a game and get into it without any problems. Which is why I could care less about how something sells.

So while the community isn't gigantic, I hear it sure as hell is dedicated and that the players can be pretty bad ass.

I was tallking about my opinion when I said Socom 4 lol.

You should try out the demo, and then see if you like it. With the whole game you can unlock new weapons and other stuff.

The community does matter because unlike other games this particular game relies on 256 people to start a game, and that mode is the best mode in the game. The 64 people modes aren't that interesting compared to the 256 ones, but you will definitely manage to get a game in the 64 people lobby.

256 people lobby will take some time. Like 20 minutes sometimes depending upon the time of the day.

Downloading demo as I type.  Will post thoughts later.

I actually thought that Sabotage was the best mode and that is 32 vs 32.

I also hear that at off peak times you can easily find 5000 or more people playing, so peak hours are probably in the 6000-8000 area easily. Definitely good enough for $20.

Hopefully the demo does include everything though.

So if I don't mind using default armor and weapons and the inability to level I pretty much own MAG again? O_o

I wish PSN charged $20 or less though, that way I would buy it right now. I would rather have a game like this on my HDD rather than having to pop in the disc if I decide to play a few rounds, but paying the same for digital as I would for physical is just a flat out rip off.

Anyways, thanks a lot for actually responding.

No problem, and I meant PS+ users, VGchartz didn't register the sign.

Yeah, you would be pretty much owning the whole game, but I don't think you can unlock trophies and there are some DLC game modes that no one plays that won't be there on the demo.

mag has been £11.99 on psn over here for a bit on offer, not bad
