It seems like Tokyo's getting back to normal, slowly but surely, at least if you look at the Tokyo Metro's site

Now the economic disaster starts..Nikkei down 10%, Their will be Electricity shortages untill (atleast) beginning of April for some companies it is going to be a hard time to go on, water shortages aswell, tourists/business men leaving the country, Universities/schools are still closed... And all of this just a few months after Japan was recovering from the Financial crisis...

Universities aren't that badly impacted that i can see. The university i'm going to soon, Sophia in Tokyo, shut down until the 23rd, but it's currently on Spring Vacation, so that's not as drastic, and will reopen the 23rd for a graduation ceremony

A (future) sophian interesting...   Anyway all the information i get is based in the region around Nagoya..They basically don't know what to do especially the exchange students they are going back to their native country for some the end of the year;

Odd. Nagoya's further down even then Tokyo, and they should be getting along quite well. An internet friend of mine in Tokyo seemed quite confident that they were on a fast road to recovery as far as the city went

No, don't know anyone at the University right now. I have a contact at their overseas students office, but i've been advised to give them space and not ask about the status of the coming semester

Positive news: they are getting ready to introduce offsite power to Fukushima Daiichi, which will finally get the situation under long-term control
