Now i have to admit i havent played many of the real old skoolers, but... i still have my SNES and for me it must be my favourite console form "back in the day" It may just be that i owned it that really made it for me but i wanna know what was your favourite. I am very sorry that i cant fit all the consoles on the poll as i am only allowed 6 consoles. i have gone with the oldest and more popular ones but feel free to add your favourites in the thread. You're missing a whole bunch: Intellivision (which was huge), Bally-Astrocade, Vectrex, C-64 (PC but it basically ruled gaming between the collapse and the arrival of the NES) just off the top of my head, there were others.   None of this 'There's only room for three' crap.  lol

Sega Genesis? Come on over here it was the MegaDrive, much cooler name. 

I only played Mario for the first time in the Wii era. Sonic was what was cool back in the day.

Still the 800XL is really where my early heart lay for gaming, but it wasn't really a console exactly, more of a very early type of Personal computer as it had a keyboard and you could do (in theory) accounting on it.

I also loved the commodore 64 and spectrum ZX, I never owed them or even the mega drive but I went around my brothers friends house to play his amazing collection of consoles/computers almost everyday for most of my early childhood.

NES for me. I didn't get a Sega Genesis until i was older and then i never played it lol.

C64.. will never forget when Duke from the GI Joe game said:

that game was so big! It took a 2 side 5 1/4 floppy disc!! not 170kB but a whoping 340kB

but in a few years I'll say dreamcast..
