Forums - PC Discussion - Dragon age 2 PC - Top 2 texture settings optional download

Those of us who intend to pick up Dragon Age II for the PC next week will apparently have to download a separate patch if we want to view the game in its full high resolution glory. So sayeth senior producer Fernando Melo on the official forums:

We will be releasing the high res texture pack next week (Monday I believe).

...

It'll be a manual download - you will be able to grab it here on the site similar to a patch for DAO. It will come with its own installer etc.

...

Also worth noting that there are new ATI and nVidia drivers due Monday (or Tuesday) I believe, which will increase performance and stability for DA2 on DirectX11 cards.

As soon as the high resolution texture pack is released, we'll let you know.

Jesus. Can thy kill this game any further?

From the Bioware forums-

OK: Here is the story.

Auto-attack option for consoles was added in to the games late in the development cycle after the initial certification build was sent. The auto-attack functionality was sent to be added to the game for testing and approval. This was why staff said it was in game.

Due to an error during mastering, the auto-attack file was omitted during manufacture.

We apologize for this. It was meant to be in game, but it is not currently in the console versions. We are working on how best to distribute this to console users. When we have information, we will let everyone know.

Complete clusterfuck.

So, they didn't bother to playtest the final build? LOL.

Fucking Bioware. I still maintain that they are losing their shit.

so not only will the game ship without the top 2 graphics settings the game will also ship without auto attack and the game will be shorter... Why did they think they could turn around a sequel this fast? They should have had this as their xmas release and moved mass effect 3 to next year, this type of game needs a longer dev cycle than this.

You know we should all move to hyping a real RPG http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=125602&page=1&str=985925536
