Well for years us gamers who own Wii's and PS3's have had to go to spin off YouTube sites to view video's and get the YouTube experiance and Microsoft gamers were left out entirely as they had no browser to search YouTube. Well according to a new job listing at YouTube it appears that will all change.
The job posting by YouTube is asking for game programming veterns with at least three years game development experiance with at least one published title that they worked on. The posting also says that the programmer must have a "deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and/or Nintendo Wii."
According to Gamasutra the service will be a "compelling lean back experience", But that isn't all YouTube appears to be targetting NetFlix directly with the posting indicating "pay-per-stream" content might be included in the new developers duties.
So YouTube may be alittle late to the table but with NetFlix currently having over 3-million subscribers on Wii alone and millions more also on PS3 and 360, the market for such content is massive. Also this indicates for the first time that YouTube may be creating a pay to view service.
Would you pay to watch YouTube video's? Does YouTube have a chance at challenging NetFlix? Are you happy to hear YouTube channels may be appearing on Wii/360/PS3? Whats your take on the news?
