Forums - Gaming Discussion - Activision to buy Take Two?

VideoGamer

Activision is eyeing up GTA and Red Dead Redemption publisher Take Two, if a source speaking to MCV is to be believed.

"There are very strong rumours amongst people at a very senior level within the global business," a senior executive told MCV.

"But there're not much more than that at the moment – they are just rumours. And, of course, given Activision's news this week, everyone is now looking to see what their next move is. But you can definitely put two and two together and make four-ish."

This rumour comes after a headline-grabbing week for Activision. The publisher disbanded its Guitar Hero business, announced staff lay offs and formed a new CoD digital content team.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

While still very much at the rumour stage, if true this will be major news in the world of video games. Activision, which already owns the blockbuster Call of Duty and World of Warcraft brands, will then also have the likes of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead in its stable. A force to be reckoned with.

So Year GTA game incoming? Or are they gonna get the same respect as Blizzard? They're certainly big enough to say "When its ready..."

I'll just repeat what I announced at Gamrfeed:

GTA Hero: Modern Warfare confirmed!

Activision will sooner or later release a console. They are making their first party.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Makes sense. EA barely managed to avoid it because of their own financial troubles, which Activision has been avoiding, and Take Two is just too poorly managed to survive on its own in the long run

Can you explain how Take 2 is poorly managed? I'm serious as I really dont know that.

If you're a company that can lose money in GTAIV's fiscal year, you're poorly managed Though they might have done better since then, i haven't kept up with their financials
