Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

This the hypocrisy I talk about, You accuse me of intolerance and you hate me because I see things different to you, How is this not intolerance? How is what you say any different to what I say?

Show me a Muslim that suports Israel and I will give you a mountian of gold.

So, for example, if I accuse Nazis of being intolerant and hate Nazis because they "see things different" from me, I'm being intolerant and (you're implying) hypocritical?

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

Tolerant people shouldn't tolerate intolerance. That doesn't make them hypocrites. However tolerating intolerance would be hypocracy.

Asking for your intolerance to be tolerated by tolerant people is hypocracy. As you would not afford the same to others.

Not a tough concept.

Bingo, Sqrl gets it.

Yeah Omar, if only you could play a game as Iraqi insurgents blowing up American soldiers, Palestinians killing Israeli soldiers, and Nazis ("the axis side") killing British and American soldiers, and maybe running a few concentration camps to eliminate any remaining Jews...

Pretty much any game where you could kill Americans and Jews would be totally awesome, right?

Ehm, excuse me, did you just compare the palestinians and Iraqi men who oppose invation to the nazi's?...

Wow... that's insightful.

Ehm, excuse ME, you should read Omar's comments in this thread. The three groups of people he would like to play in a video game are Iraqi insurgents killing American soldiers, Palestinians killing Israeli soldiers, and Nazis killing Allied soldiers.

There sure seems to be a theme developing, and it's killing Jews and Americans.

And his response (12/17/07, 11:45) does not deny it, he attempts to explain it by saying that such attitudes are common among muslims.

I have read the comments, but don't formulate things like that, it's really unfair and every bit as intolerant as the OP is being. I don't condone his views (obviously), but I don't condone generalization of every group US citizens don't approve of either.

Do you think that would make an interesting videogame? Wandering around the world trying to find a muslim that supports Israel and being rewarded with a mountain of gold? I think a better reward would be a bunch of virgins in heaven. The gameplay could revolve around trying to find said muslim while avoiding suicide bombers. Compelling software?

I still stand by my original intent for this thread, that it would be great to have fps war game and have to be a american. But of course this means "this guys a terrorist" .

You wanted this when you posted the thread so don't go playing victim now.

Sorry I forgot you could read peoples minds to determine their intention.

I thought alot of european people may like to play these games as someone other than an american. The idea came to me becuase people getting sick of ww2 shooters, while I thought Im more sick of having to a american shooting people and would be nice to have balance of being somebody different.

My only mistake was to get side tracked in responding to more political issue's. Also I got a bad rep against jewish ppls because of thread about "will usa invade Iran" where it was my opinion that the motivation was to protect israel.

It has nothing to do with reading people's minds.  You are openly intolerant of the Jewish religion, openly anti-US, and have shown an inability to keep your intolerant propaganda and hate-speech to yourself. Not exactly a brain-teaser.

LOL

See the double standard, Stupid Muslim comments get LOL, yet dont dare mention anything about jewish ppls.

Even Japanese games like MGS that are made in Japan by Japanese people are american centered story. I just so sick of it, why not something different.

-UBISOFT BOYCOTT!-

Its a silly argument anyway, you will not change my mind one bit, nor will I yours. So why not talk about a game that is about fighting war that is not from american perspective, possible ideas and scenarios or just not bother?
