How can 2011 be the swan song for the Wii when 2010 was apparently the end of the road?

Maybe 2012, or 2013, I don't know the universe works in mystery ways.

Literally every year has been the end of the Wii. 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010. Now it will be dead in 2011 and I'm sure it will die in 2012 as well.

I guess we figured out why the Wii has been such a contagious phenomenon, it's because the Wii is a friggin' zombie.

PSP for sure, with DS still going strong and the 3DS out this year, it will be another cat fighting against the mouse.

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

DS, and we will never see Layton 4 see the daylight in America.

Layton 4 will totally come out over here, the games are great sellers.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if Level-5/Nintendo released Layton 4 & 5 simultaneously even.

And actually, with Level-5's "year late" localizations, now I think DS will probably also have a few choice games to look forward to in 2012 in the west (Inazuma Eleven 2, Ninokuni, Mystery Room).  So really, only PSP dies (worldwide) in 2011, though it may even get some minor JP support into 2012 imo (like stuff from Falcom or imageepoch).

I want both this game and Ninokuni, but tbh, the 3rd game didn't do so well (in americas, in emeaa it's a monster), and it's coming way too late

Layton games never move much upfront in America, they're always leggy sellers.  The 4th game will definitely come over, it's actually the start of the next trilogy (Mask of Miracle on 3DS is part 2).

I tend to think Nintendo will continue publishing all Level-5's DS games in America and Europe though, L5 will probably only start selfpublishing on 3DS (and Wii/PS3).

DS in Japan

PSP in the west

Currently known DS/PSP/Wii games I think we'll see in the west in 2012...

Nintendo DS

  • Inazuma Eleven 2: Threat of the Invaders (Nintendo / Level 5) might make end of 2011
  • Inazuma Eleven 3: Challenge the World (Nintendo / Level 5)
  • Ninokuni: The Ebony Wizard (Nintendo / Level 5)

PSP

  • Black*Rock Shooter: The Game (NISA / imageepoch)
  • Final Fantasy Agito XIII (Square Enix) might make end of 2011
  • Tale of the Final Promise (NISA / imageepoch) might make end of 2011

Wii

  • Dragon Quest X (Nintendo / Square Enix / TBA)
  • Inazuma Eleven Strikers (Level 5)

PSP. Is a dead man walking and 3DS will be the nail in the coffin.

DS sales proves that it has at least one more year of life. I doubt that nintendo will take the support very fast.

Wii, no way. They have been forecasting its death since 2007 and it still alive and  kicking. WM has a lot of potential for it and it may make it last at least a couple of years more. The dismal 3d party support is nothing but the 3d partie's faulth itself.

I wonder why nobody added the xbox360 or the PS3. I am pretty sure that MS will announce the xbox succesor this 2011.

Seems like MS is quite confident in Kinect boost to hold the 360 a couple of years more.
