Agreed dude, it was hard for me to play that game. I bought Final Fantasy XII about 3 times, because I really was trying to get into the game. But the story was so lackluster and so were the characters. For crying out loud, some dude name Vann. That was weird and unlike Square Enix to make a Final Fantasy like that.

But FFXIII and FF Versus XIII is shaping up awesome. At the beginning I was like, this game isn't all that. But now I'm starting to regret taking my PS3 back. But I still will get a PS3 but I'm going to wait till this awesome game releases 8)


I think it's because the main guy basically just combined together a Ogre Battle plot with a Starwars plot then reskinned everything as Final Fantasy. The only thing that seemed really final fantasy like was Clan Centurio.

I hope everything turns out well. Loosing a big staff member during the development of 12 really hurt.

However, we will never know! Square NEVER releases any information or gameplay before the game comes out. We should geta demo though a few months before.

I'm tired of all the modern / sci-fi directions the games are taking. Whatever happened to the "fantasy"? Also, my intense dislike for Nomura's character designs continues...

So you want to say only a middle age like scenario combinied with elbs , trolls , orcs and so on is "fantasy" ? Then that term would be pretty limited , although fantasies are believed to be unlimited.
I believe s-Cry-ed has pretty much a "fantasy" component to it aswell.

YEs fantasy just isn't about medievel times

but look in FFXIII we have 2 SIDES:

1. Inside the Cocoon -- thats the modern city n modern civilization

2. OUTSIDE IT - they showed a few pics outside it n it looks primitive & more exotic...

so maybe we have "both" this time....

FFXII combat system is outright awful, IMO. Give me turn-based battles anyday...

Trailers look awesome I have only seen the shorter ones before. Game developers with big-budget titles really should invest in the music.
