^Whatever, it's not part of it because of that example with the "1960's " , that's clear enough. Nobody in real life talks about a decade thinking year 1 to 10. Right now we're living in the 10's, and 2010 is part of the 10s, not part of 00's . The end.

There's more than one way to view a decade. Just because that's not the way to view the "00s" doesn't mean it's not a way to view a legitimate major decade. 2001 to 2010 was the first decade of the new millennium, which is pretty big. Even if it wasn't what you call the "00s."

... Are there no Nintendo characters?

Sad to see no sackboy/marcus feonix

How many Nintendo characters actually qualify? The staple Ninty characters that I can think of don't.

Pikmin or Animal Crossing probably.  Both were pretty popular, Pikmin's really loved by core gamers and the industry press and AC was a HUGE seller, more than most of the games up there.

I'd have liked to see Chibi-robo myself, though he wasn't actually created by Nintendo.

AC is most definitely not this decade. The AC game you know and love was a Japanese-only N64 game, which has been ported repeatedly with almost no changes for the last 12 years to the GC, Wii, and DS.

The N64 game was released in 2001 though... ie: this decade.
