Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Mocks Kinect, Celebrates EyeToy

Microsoft's Kinect motion detection system has just been launched in North America for the Xbox 360, and Sony didn't miss a chance to take a subtle swipe at the new technology and once again reiterate that buttons can't be replaced and that its new PlayStation Move is the best in the new wave of console peripherals.

Theres also a video at the LINK

360 fanboys think kinect is revolutionary for gaming when eyetoy already did this 7 years ago and guess what, it faded away.

Kinect wont last a year before fading away

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

They pretty much copied an article that Gametrailers wrote and was panned for. Sony never mentioned Kinect. That video was released as a part of a series of Playstation Celebrations videos on the Playstaion Blog, it was not meant to be an attack against Kinect. It's weird how they've decided to write an article about that video, but they didn't write any on the other videos being released on the Blog.

The bottom of the article makes me sick:

"Check out the whole video below and then cast your vote on what type of technology, either the Kinect or the PlayStation Move, will win in the end."

Articles written up to feed fanboys, it's disgusting and when larger sites do the same thing, it only makes the industry look much more immature.

Softpedia are another site I'll have to cross off my 'reputable reviews' list along with Gamespot, IGN and Game Informer. All I've got left is Giant Bomb, Joystiq, Eurogamer and Destructoid.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

mchaza seriously a year? So does that mean the move will last 6 months? These type of peripherals are hear to stay, so suck it up and get use to it.....

The eye toy and Kinect are dramatically different in their capabilities and software. At any rate the eye toy evolved in to the playstation eye which is still here. Kinect will sell, and though it will eventually grow outdated like any console or peripheral, new and improved versions will follow. QuarantineStudio is right. Motion gaming is here to stay.
