GT5 vs Forza 3: GT5 will?

match first week forza 3 sales (250,000) 32 7.84%

double (500,000) 36 8.82%

triple (750,000) 40 9.80%

x4 (1,000,000) 59 14.46%

x5 (1,250,000) 23 5.64%

x6 (1,500,000) 218 53.43%

Total:408

Personally I think with a push in advertising towards its release over the next few weeks GT5 should see a minor boost in American pre-orders, maybe topping out at around 300,000. If it doubles those then a 550-600,000 launch in America alone will be assured; add to that what will surely be a pretty big launch in EMAA regions, (especially considering F1 2010 sold over 500,000 first week combined) I can see 1.5 million week one.

Regardless of week one sales, we all know Gran Turismo have notoriously long legs and garner most of their sales after the initial launch. It should be in for a massive holiday season.

Including Japan it will probably do 2m though, so this poll pretty flawed.

This is my first ever Gran Turismo launch (gf bought GT4 for me, got into it after), so with all the potentially amazing features GT5 could have I am somewhat afraid that it might fail in some areas... anywasy

OT: what can an real optimist vote in this pool? not to mention the fanatic? 10million pluss

Do we need a thread for this?  As others have said the outcome is obvious.   Even if GT5 underperforms it will almost certainly outsell Forza.

This sort of stuff just starts the usual flaming.  Both consoles have great franchises and both have franchises that outsell the equivilant on the other.  No need to call it out all the time.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

In terms of popularity the GT series is leagues ahead of the Forza series. Just like the Halo series popularity is leagues ahead of the Killzone series. There really isnt any point in people comparing them.

Don't think so. It won't sell over 500,000 in Americas. Try about 1.5-1.75 first week at best. The attach ratio for this game is not going to be 75% in Europe as some of you are expecting. That is ridiculous.

I think so aswell, It will easily sell over 500,000 in Americas. Try about 2.5-3.5 million first week at worst. The attach ratio for this game is going to be 75% in Europe as some of you are expecting. it is ridiculous thaat people think otherwise.

Hmmmm...... i agree with both of you.

according to sony the ps3 has a 16 million userbase in europe, and that was at gamescom.

what do you mean 75% attach ratio? is that for ltd? because most predictions about europes sales are 4-5 million and that would be 28% attach ratio.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Nice job of editing my comments. If you think this game will sell anywhere near what Reach sold first week you're in for a rude awakening, but I'll just sit back and keep quiet till then.
