Game industry analysts have weighed in with US sales predictions for the month of September ahead of the NPD Group's release of official market data this Thursday - and it looks like good news for Microsoft.
Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter forecast monthly software sales of $665 million, up 2.4 per cent compared to September 2009, "due to a very strong debut" for Halo: Reach.

"We expect September sales to be led by new releases Microsoft's Halo: Reach, Capcom's Dead Rising 2, and Electronic Arts' FIFA Soccer 11," he said in a research note, adding: "We expect a modest launch for Sony's PS3 Move motion controller."
On the hardware front, Pachter and fellow analyst, Jesse Divnich of EEDAR, expect Xbox 360 to be confirmed as September's bestselling home console, only narrowly outsold by DS.
