If PSP2 launches with the "same" power as 3DS but with just one screen, and less features but more price appealing, we could see the tables turned here: Nintendo going for the high end pricey console, and Sony going to the affordable console to the masses - the same thing Nintendo did with the original DS against the PSP.

hahahaha. If Sony's PSP2 is 16,800 yen then that means Nintendo and Sony totally switched places. Nintendo makes the high tech gaming devices that costs a lot while Sony makes the feeble kiddy system that is cheap

For Nintendo (and any non-retail company for that matter) selling 4m units is shipping 4m units. They aren't saying what retail stores will sell, but what they will sell to the retail stores since that is how they make their money. This is a financial statement, so they have to follow certain rules for reporting.

And no, they probably won't ship 5-6m units. They are probably anticipating shipping every system they make. They basically are saying that they are getting this to production at such a rate that they have 4m shipped by Mar 31 2011. The only way their shipments go up is if they manage to start production earlier than they are currently planning or production rates are slightly higher than anticipated.

Nintendo DS sold 2.86 millions worldwide on first month and Wii 2.93.

Nintendo 3DS can do it although is more expensive.

In software NDS sold 3.32 million games(1.16 tie ratio) and Wii 8.81(2.79 tie). I see very hard N3DS selling so many games.

I can't see Sony selling the PSP2 for less than the 3DS. Considering how Sony obviously did not get that graphics are even more useless on handhelds than consoles they'll just try to outpower the 3DS and repeat the same bs again. Plus Nintendo already has a bunch of 3rd party support.

why are we even talking about psp2 here?

graphics aren't the main thing but they are important as games evolve

1. Because someone brought it up

2. Because the only 3rd parties who throw Sony a bone every now and then are CAPCOM (Monster Hunter), Konami (MGS), and SE (whatever is available). I doubt that's going to change much with the PSP2
