No, a great film, but insanely over-hyped and overrated, and this re-release is just milking the thing dry. Too bad the masses will gobble it up like starving dogs, though.

Actually, all the movies in the top 20 (other than The Dark Knight, Star Wars and Ice Age) are more fun to watch than Avatar :)

Transformers 2 only got that amount of money cos there Megan Fox in it,but yeah i see your point.Personally i think Inception should be way higher in the grossing,but then again,a lot of people wouldn't understand it.


You could replace Megan fox with any hottie and Transformers 2 would have packed them in... Face it, people like the big loud dumb action filled popcorn movies. And as far as those movies, Avatar is one of the best in a long time.

AGREE transformers 2 is full of shit

it just got so much hype cause of the first movie,megan fox.

and it still didn't make a billion dollars

 

titanic(back into history to witness the horrible event,i like that bit not the rest and i love vintage setting)

pirates(not much better but i just hated the navi and the story of avatar and the characters too)

toy story,TLOR,star wars,shrek,spiderman,ice age totally deserve THEIR spots in the top 20

jurrasic park is good too,atleast better than avatar imo

harry potter(some deserve their spots some don't)

TDK,ALICE,avatar (i wouldn't like to watch these 3 again)

Going to watch it again just for the guilty fun of it. Not the best storyline ever, but still nice effects and all.

I agree with ya. Avatar was probably the most enjoyable movie experience for me in a long time. Watching that movie is just an all around good fun time. Not much more to it than that, but then again... sometimes there doesn't need to be.

I'll probably go see it again with some friends. ^_^

Also, was anyone else here relieved when Toy Story 3 kicked Transformers 2 out of the top 10 domestic grosses of all time. Makes me love TS3 even more.

Well, Toy Story 3 wont beat Dark Knight domestically, but it's inching closer and closer to the million mark. I'm just glad it's the highest grossing animated film of all time. Totally deserves it. ^_^

Indeeed. Both very good movies but TS3 is just much better bcus its animtated and has the perfect ending vs TDK and deserves it.

I hope Avatar gets $3 billion, and the sequel deserves like 4 billion. But Transformers 3 w/o megan fox deserves like nothing bcus its just a movie with robots and a bunch of explosions w/ not so good actors.

I refuse to watch Avatar on the grounds that it is overhyped and overrated and the purpose of its creation was so James Cameron could create CGI so good he could masturbate to it.
