infamous: you must try it out. this game is lots of fun, its one of the few games on the ps3 which has incredible gameplay, intense fun, and an amazing story.

metal gear solid 4: even though darth hates it, its a great game.

lbp: a nice platforerm, once you get addicted youl never leave it. you dont have to be creative, you can just play the levels.

heavy rain: although i hated it, its a good game, gameplay is intense, not that fun but the story will keep you moving on. i stopped because the game was so sad.

mag: its not the best shooter out their, theirs no campaign, but i never played an online game that is so much fun, it really incorporates team play, and strategy.

ratchet and clank: a crack in time, and tools of destruction: great platformers, and great shooters, they have a good story, also they have lots of replay value, since in your 2nd playthrough you get a new set of weapons. the open world aspect adds to the game a sense of adventure, and in both games their are arenas which always are a challenge. 

if i was you, out of my list i would get, infamous, mgs4, and ratchet and clank: a crack in time, for their great stories, and sheer intense fun.

edit: and if you want to cry and feel like a bitch play demon souls. i havent touched it since i beat the 1st boss, im scared :(. unless someone comes and gives me all of their best weapons and armor i wont be able to enjoy the game anymore. help me please :(

Seriously, if you haven't tried this out, jump on it. Forget that I'm CGI-Quality, take the industry's advice!!

@Demon's Soul recommendations:  difficulty level of the game bothers me for one reason: I have a 4 year old boy, so often only have 30 or so minute chunks of time to play.  If I were to get real far in one section and suddenly have to quit, would I have the ability to save?  honest question.

Not interested in some of these (just personal taste, no other reason), but am interested in MAG, maybe I can find it cheap used and give it a try.  I don't have a headset for my PS3 though...probably sucks being speechless in a team game.  :(

I should try the demo for R&C: I haven't played a game in that series in years, thanks for the advice!

3D Dot Game Heroes IMO was a great game. I would get that or InFamous. You can get both for the price of one now.
