Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii Party is Awesome!

Nintendo have done it again. This is Nintendo's next big one. Wii Party will sell 10M easy.

I've played about 30 minutes and watched for about 3 hours as a room full of 6 kids and 3 adults laughed their arses off. It was like Christmas. What was supposed to be a "keep them entertained for 20 minutes" turned into a night long PARTY.

It's Wii Play and Mario Party on steroids. If you don't like those games then sucks to be you but if you're a normal person then Wii Party is a must buy. I think there is a gem in here that could possibly be Tetris-level awesomeness. I had no idea how to find it again because half of it was Japanese. It involved directing different coloured Miis into the house of their respective colour by rotating them.

Best use of the speaker in the Wiimote so far. Something I've been hoping to see since Mario Kart Wii. We spent half an hour at least playing Wiimote 'hide and seek'.

There is tons and tons of content. Many are Warioware-esque throwaways but some are incredibly addictive. Plenty of 'waggle' involved but it's mainly well timed 'waggle' like Wii Sports. The most complex controls I saw were dpad plus a button. It was in Japanese and even a 4yr old could grasp it.

I don't know if it's supposed to be a full price or budget game but it should be full price and I want it released in Europe NOW! I thought I'd never want to play a 'party' game again after all the Wii Sports clones from third parties but it's actually damn good. If Sony were to try and copy the sheer amount of ideas in this game and reproduce it in HD it would probably bankrupt them.

Awesome! After some gameplay trailers were released, I began hyping it. Call me casual, but I am incredibly excited to get it.

If Nintendo hasn't done so, they should think of having an optional bundle with it and a wii remote (one of mine just died, so it would be perfect for me. :P )

If Galaxy and Zelda are the kings of single player games and Wii Play and Resort are the kings of 2 player games then Wii Party is the king of 3-4 player games.

Obviously NSMB Wii and Mario Kart are the real kings but you get my drift.

Interesting. If this sells over 10 Mil, the public will officially dub Miis > Mario...

I agree OP. I thought Reggie was crazy for calling it a bridge game, but it really is.

I played with my friends. They are all gamers and a lot of them didn't like Wii Sports or the other Wii titles, but we all loved this one. It really felt like the old days of Mario, but fresh and new. Definatly a great game.

The title even has 2 of the current gen's keywords.

Wii and Party in are guaranteed million sellers.

When this title was first announced, I couldn't have been less interested in it. Especially with everything else that is coming out in the next six months. Then I saw one gameplay video on Youtube. That one video turned into another, then another, then another, until I had watched gameplay videos for about 45 minutes. That was all I needed to decide. I will be picking this one up for sure the day it releases.

like other said, i was not all that interested in the game, but i watched some gameplay videos, and just by watching them i was laughing hard,

i may pick this up if i have the money when it releases.

Is that kind of stuff really necessary?

Will definitely have to check out this game, since I really like the Mario Party games.
