When I turn on my Wii and press A to get on the the Main Menu, my Wii freezes sometimes. I called Nintendo about this issue and they recommend that I try the Nintendo's cleaning kit or send it in for repairs for $85. I had this issue since last Monday. When I play my games I have no problems except for Monster Hunter 3 which sometimes freezes during loading during offline play,but, I have no problems when playing online. My Wii is not modded in any way, I update my Wii when a update is available and I have nothing connected in the USB on the back of the Wii.

Has any one had this issue, if so how did u fix it? Has anyone use the cleaning kit? Did it work?

Anyway, i would look into the Monster Hunter disc, if that's all it is. I've experienced the occasional odd problem with MH (mostly odd GPU hiccups). Nothing to get Nintendo involved with.

it could be over heating. I know my Wii's been having a similar problem everytime i play MH3 for extended hours. It could be caused by dust; if thats the case, this is what i did. (i dont recommend it tho) I took one of those pressurized air dusters and jammed one end into the wii and spent the can till it wouldnt cough out any more dust. The Wii now works even better than before.

My dad wanted to buy a new Wii instead of repairng it, so i had to choice since i didnt want to lose my precious MH save file

i don't really think it's overheating, because he's saying the system freezes sometimes right when he turns it on.

sounds like your system might be corrupted. you could try going into maintenance mode on your wii. i think you hold down the plus and minus buttons at the first screen that pops up when you turn on your wii (the warning screen). from there, you could try a couple different things. updating your system again might help. if not, you might have to reformat your system. if you want to do that, back up all the game saves you can, because reformatting the system will delete everything (and i mean EVERYTHING!).

i'd say hold off on reformatting until your tried everything else.

BTW: If I did have to reformat my Wii, can I save my data on a SD card and put it back on my Wii again?

Wow I am having this same issue. with my Wii. It keeps saying something about the Mii Channel as well. I have already formated it (lost my level 52 on Call of duty grr...) but this is still happenning even after the format. My wii was also freezeing at random times. I also noticed that my Netflix disc would work but the screen was all pixilated and I could not use it at all. Anyone have any other ideas on this?
