Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox 360 slim is 17% smaller and is incapable of RROD-ing!

A tipster sent us an info sheet on Microsoft's new slimmer Xbox 360. Of most interest to us was the spec sheet, with some notable highlights: support for Kensington Locks, and dimensions. According to these specs, the "new S console" is about 17% smaller than the original and also physically incapable of getting the red ring of death. No, that doesn't mean the console won't break -- instead, the Xbox 360 slim lacks a red "ring of light." If your console runs into some fatal error, expect it to flash green.

Should we get ready to coin the GROD?

Source.

Pretty smart move on MS's part to take away RROD-ing imo.   They really are serious about the Xbox 360 being rebranded.

Thoughts?

I am sure Microsoft has tested this new console in every way imaginable to make sure it is reliable and to make sure it doesn't overheat.

Anyone know what the security thing on the 360 slim is for?

only 17% smaller? thats not even a quater, jus sayin... they really calling it a slim?

well whatever, look at the Wattage, 135, thats a NICE drop, less power is always better, they should have called this version Engery Star 360.

Glossy black though... finger print city like the original PS3's.

That makes the most sense imo...they can't make modding impossible but they sure as hell can make it so difficult that hardly anyone will try to mod it.
