So we've got the new setup for Microsoft, though Kinect's pricing still remains a mystery, but the big question now is if it'll actuall make a difference. In an earlier thread, i speculated that a 360 Slim in and of itself wouldn't really make a long-term sales difference, because the phenomenon only works with Sony because it was tied with the PS3's first drop to a mass-market price. 360 has been under that threshold for some time.

The new push lower for the Arcade probably will make a lasting difference, but not a significant one.

A proper bundle with Kinect might help, but it would have to be an aggressive bundle, i think.

it will make a difference the few weeks after it release but i dont think it will give a sustained boost like the ps3.

Won't do anything. They wont market the new arcade price. They'll market the new "slim" or whatever they are calling the new model which is the same price, just with wifi and bigger storage.

I might be alone but the slim seems very expensive to me; after all, we’re talking about a console that is 5 years old and is still being sold for $300.

not enough to regain anything, we dont know if sony doing anything drastic yet.

i can only see doing alot more in america, but mainly to already owners.

well for a while we will have arcade at 150 elite at 250 and slim at 300. i think it will boost sales a lot. then when arcade and elite units run out we will se slim drop to 199, that will last for a few months depending on how many old 360's are left. during this time the 360 should have a sumwhat big boost.

will it outsell the ps3 during that time yes unless sony does something big like release move or a pricecut.

I think MS will sell the console at 299 until Kinect realeses.

And it will sell good, but in November the will cut the price to offer an affordable Xbox/Kinect Bundle
