I have both, but prefer the 360's games. If you prefer the PS3, go for it. But I wouldn't get rid of the 360 until after you play the PS3 for a bit. After I bought the PS3, I was considering trading it in, but the Bluray has gotten me through the tough times.

I have this feeling that PS3 is going to release all these games (like what Sony did with PS2 and PS1) and that maybe we'll see things take a turn in the future. I know Sony's sales have sucked and they have been getting flak but I have a good feeling they'll get right back up. Perhaps they are just pulling the Machiavellian technique ? haha

It's common trapping to think "Oh X won 1 and 2 so they'll win 3!" Please don't get caught in this, winning or doing well last gen doesn't amount to anything next gen look at Atari, Nintendo & Sega. Is it possible, sure. Does it look likely, not so much... but hey I could be wrong, and I hope it stays sony & nintendo I'd really rather them then friggen microsoft.. (sorry half asleep I'm kidding they're all good for different reasons though in general microsoft is an evil company.. >.>)

A recent news article said Sony had 15 teams working on games for release sometime between this past September and next year.  More games are coming.

If you're contemplating jumping from the 360 because you're bored with shooters and what not, I'm not sure you're going to be that satisfied with the PS3s library right now. OK, by mid/late 2008 it should be a wildly different story, but today?

Unless you're really itching for Heavenly Sword or Ratchet & Clank or the Eye of Judgement CCG, I don't know that I see anything so compelling to make the jump, hardware reliability notwithstanding.

If I were in your position having all three consoles, I'd hang onto the 360 for at least six more months, or start looking at some of the better new releases on Wii until there are some more compelling titles released for the PS3.

 Okay, I just have to ask. Your dad is a hairy italian plumber who eats shrooms?

 But back on topic. I only own a Wii, but as far as reasons not to own 360, just use thd basic RRoD issue, even if you've had a perfect experience so far, it sorta makes you wonder if it's just a matter of a clock ticking away the seconds until it finally does happen.

 Now as far as reasons to buy the PS3. I myself am rather intrigued by the whole PSP connectivity issue, and I also am really liking how Little Big Planet has looked so far. It might be a ways off, but so is my likelyhood of getting a PS3

And congratulations on making the jump to the PS3. I also have a 360, but the past month I have been debating on selling my 360 since I really don't play it all that much anymore. (Haven't fired it up since about after a week after halo 3 came out and I got bored with the game).

What type of games do you like the best? That could be a good way to recommend some games for you to at least give a rent to.
