Hey :)

Me and some friends are going to play a lot of horror games this summer to try to get into the genre.

I have heard something about Silent Hill 1 not being too good, but I personally would think it's a good game to have played trough.

What do you guys think? Is Silent Hill 1 worth a playtrough, or should I skip right to number 2?

Seriously, I thought the first Silent Hill was the best, the second was pretty good too, every other that's been released has just seen a decrease in quality...

Skip it... Ask anyone I love horror games as much as anyone else, but part 2 is pretty much the same experience, but better.

Visuals kill silent hill 1 at this point. It looks beyond fugly, even when upscaled by the PC using an emulator.

But if you want to play the best Silent hill game since silent hill2...get Alan Wake. :)

For me it's the best of the series(scariest of all).

I suggest you to play SH: Shattered Memories, its a great game and everybody can get a different ending depending on your psicological profile. The graphics are also excellente in the Wii version of the game and the controls are well integrated.

I don't know if you can find the original Silent Hill, or tolerate its very dated graphics, but the saga has the advantage that the games rarely connect between them.

I think I will pick up both number 1 and 2 and play them!
I already have number 3, but haven't played it, because I wanted to play the other games first!

pass silent hill 1?And some posts are for laughs.This is one of the best survival horror ever.and skip it to play SH2?Its very different games.my only problem is how will be graphics on the ps3.if graphics dont bother you ,you will be amazed.Awesome scenario -creepy atmospere-puzzles!nowdays you cant find games with great puzzles...
If you havent played any of the silent hills play all the saga from the beginning.all 4 are great...you will be amazed...
