I could be totally wrong. I just get the feeling because it's a seperate conference from their normal conference that they have some substantial stuff for the world to see.

Untill someone leaks pictures like what happened to the PS3 slim or PSP Go we have no basis.

I'd be okay with that, if it came with the Shenmue collection and Shenmue 3, Natal enabled.

Anyway, on the content of the rumor: nothing surprising and I'm sure the rebranding isn't going to be sweeping but more with a focus on "Project Natal" as its own experience away from the core 360 one. As for Might Get Shot, there is nothing about exclusivity so let's not argue about that for a month and half, ok? Pretty please.

In just a few short weeks (E3) we'll know what Microsoft has planned for this fall.

But if these rumors are true, it would be a brilliant marketing move. A Natal launch coupled with a slim launch would probably exceed the impact the PS3 slim had on its sales. This would help to get Natal into as many homes as possible, which is probably the only way Microsoft could get a sizeable install base this late this generation. And with a large install base, more developers would be inclined to make Natal games, which could lead to more existing 360 owners upgrading the consoles to a slim. If Microsoft manages to sell the hardware for a profit too, it would be a huge win.

This year's E3 may be as exciting as E3 2005.

Is showing a slim model such a good idea? Won't that have a negative impact on sells leading up to the holiday season, since people will want to wait for the slim model?

Anyway, I guess this rumor could be likely, they have to build hype and E3 is the place to start, cannot wait to see the "plus more" part. I know I would buy a slim when it releases and I already have 2 xboxs.

Good point. Sony announced the Slim just 1-2 weeks before starting its sales, but combining it with a price drop, it immediately dropped the Phat price to empty the shelves and warehouses of the old supplies, IIRC. MS could do the same.
