Yes,but not significant.

IMO,the advertising campaign for GOW3 is not very impressive like the game itself,that's the main reason it sold only 1.81M by now.

Is the argument that people who were driven to buy a PS3 for GOWIII (who were waiting for GOWIII) will now not buy it because they couldn't do so 1st week or so?

Its illogical... minimal effect if any.

Alot of people follow the hype train and buy it.

 

alot more who want to buy it because of the previews and reviews they have seen tend to just postpone it if they don't get it and buy another game nd then after sometime just don't feel like buying it.

 

the game wasnt in short supply, the machine was.  I dont follow this train of thought at all.

Anyway if it was affected it was minor... really minor.

yeah many people who would have bought PS3 to play GOW3 because of the hype nad all just didn't get the chance and then when the hype died down,they forgot about it

I Completely agree with kowenicki. IF there was any affect at all im guessing it would be so minimal that it would completely not matter.

This is an example of why people say survey results don't mean anything.

You only given two options and if people are going to give an answer they are forced into one extreme or the other. People can leave comments but in the end if the results of your survey are published, the headline would state "60% of people believe GOW3 would have sold significantly more", yet this does not necessarily represent peoples real feelings on the topic.

If you are going to do a survey give options that cover the full spectrum of opinion and allow people to tell you what they really think.
