Somebody gone done made an Anime centered around the concept of this topic!
The first season of the Anime centers around the fictional war between Sega and Nintendo (Segua and Ninterdo in the Anime) the anime only releases one episode a month, but it has been stated that if enough interest is shown in the show they will begin work on further seasons that will encompass the "Larger wars".
Perhaps more interesting, the idea was obtained when one of its producers was making his, "Daily Internet rounds" and say something that sparked the idea...

Segua Kingdom has been losing the war against Ninterdo Empire but the tables are turned by the appearance of a boy called Gear. All the characters are parodies of Nintendo or Sega games such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda etc.

Which empire would you want to be born into?
Sonaria (Sony)
1.) The former Superpower, Sonaria (Sony) - is an Empire known for its ability to adapt to any complication or obstacle that may cross its path. It is an Empire that would do anything to reaquire some of the former glory and land that it had once owned. Of the three Great empires, Sonaria is the most technologically advanced.
---Sonarian's are a persistant people who adapt to changes by learning and oftimes improving over the technology of rival empires. It is said Sonarian's prefer only to rely on their own military power, but will not hesitate to accept help from allied MPC's when the opportunity arises. The empires success in Previous Konsol Wars has shaped the world of Vid'egama into what it is today.
Microsofia (Microsoft)
2.) Formed almost entirely of former MPC, Microsofia is a relatively new Empire on Vid'egama. Microsofia emerged into the past gerneration as a challenger to then superpower, Sonaria. Though the flames of First Generation Microsofia were quickly extinquished by its most hated rival, the embers still burned strong and some years later the Empire pushed back at Sonaria with the help of many MPC; This time successful in pushing the Sonarian Military far into their own land. Initiating the 3rd Great *Konsol* War.
--- The Microsef are a very rich people composed almost entirely of former MPC. Known for their aggressivness, the Microsef are a people one should never consider lightly. A fact the Sonarian Empire learned the hard way. Though they started the 3rd Great War, The Microsian Empire has yet to pay much attention to the looming shadow of Nintenidos, instead paying all their attention on Sonaria - for most of its citizens consider Sonaria the only force worthy of being called an Equal.

3.) The oldest of the three great Empires, Nintenidos has seen many an Empire rise and fall in its history, most notably former powerhouse Segon(Sega). They themselves have struggled in previous generations after an unwise decision resulted in the betrayal, and growth of the then small Sonaria. This Betrayal initiated the First Great Konsol War.
---Through the years, The Ninten People have grown accustomed to the success and the ease of living within their beloved Empire. Though the people pay little attention to the MPC, it is of little worry, for that of only Sonaria rivals their own homegrown Military. In the current Konsol War, The Ninten prefer to sit back and grow while Sonaria and Microsofia battle mercilessly to the South. That is not to say that the Nintenidos are weak, or that they do not fight. The people just don’t go looking, for that fight.
The MPC's (Purple/pink on map)
1.) The last remaining remnant of the Segon Empire that is not ruled by either of the Three Great Empires, is now home to the Multi-Platform Clan Alliance. (AKA PMC...Private Military Companies har har)... This is an area controlled by no particular government, but rather an alliance among several small clans and forces that form one very powerful entity...The so called *Alliance* is an agreement among these small city states that simply reads "If you attack me, ill attack you"...
--- This is an area where crime is rampant and law is slim to none. Most clans here survive by building their young men into "Soldiers for Hire" for the Empires warring to the North. One of the largest of these clans claims to be the "Last Vestige" of the Segon Empire that controlled this area in prior generations, The Segares Clan. There are rumours that this clan is much more powerful then they let on and may be looking to enter the 3rd Konsol War as an Independent Empire with many MPC as their Aid...If the Segarus can unite the clans in this area, it would be a force equal to any of the three great empires.
BACKGROUND
The First Great Konsol War:--- A war that many believe should never have happened, began after Nintenidos broke a treaty with the then small country of Sonaria, by selling Sonarian Tech to a competing clan's leader, Philopous; This effectivly ended the long running alliance. Nintenidos later signed a Pact with Philopous for his aid in a conflict that was no doubt brewing. The Betrayal initiated the First Great Konsol War that brought Segon to its knees and caused the population of Nintenidos to suffer greatly due to the surprising and unexpected power of Sonaria.
The Second Great Konsol War:--- Some years had past with relative peace after the First Great War had concluded and Sonaria had taken its place as the world superpower. That peace however, was not to last. Segon, now a shell of its former self attacked Nintenidos and Sonaria in an attempt to regain the power that it had once held... effectively Initiating the Second of the Great Wars. Years later it was once again Sonaria who would emerge as the ultimate victor. The war left Segon in complete ruins, brought about the Rise and Fall of the first Generation Microsofia, and left Nintenidos in worse shape than the previous war, they were barely able hold off a complete Sonarian Invasion.
The Third Great Konsol War, the Current War:--- Nearly as soon as the Second war seemed to come to an end, a challenger many thought completely wiped away, emerged again; This time with a large MPC Force behind them. The Microsef. The reborn empire once again attacked the war torn Sonaria, this time succeeding in cleaving the Empire in half in just a few short years. Just recently the Sonarian Empire has been pushing back in leaps and bounds, but little can be done to regain their former power. Nintenidos; the third party of the war, keeps a watchful eye on the fighting to the south careful not to get involved in to much of the conflict. This tactic has rewarded the Ninten with much profit over the years and has allowed the empire to grow to a size that would rival the Sonarian Empire of the past.
In fact many have forgotten that the Nintenidos Empire is actually a part of the war, and focus almost entirely and the heated battles between Sonaria and Microsofia. Though all of this could change, if the rumours of the Segon Empire's rebirth...are indeed true.
(NEW) The Fourth Great Konsol War:--- The world of Vid'egama has been battered. How long has it been since the third war began? How much longer must it persist? I know not the answer to these troubling questions, I can only say that the future looks bleak.
I have been taking refuge within the MPC territories for some time now hoping escape the terrors of the war raging to the north. I have been hoping, wishing even that news of the wars end would soon reach my ears; but it would seem those hopes are naught but dreams.
I have been hearing whispers in the streets, hushed voices that tell a story so terrifying that the world herself has begun to shake and shiver. A new war, one to end them all, is brewing.
Valvus, an emerging MPC power, has declared it's intentions to soon wage war against the Great Empires to the north. Not much is known about their true motivations, but it has been stated that they are tired of how the great empires run this world - it is time for a change.
Meanwhile, the massive Applesian Empire to the south has been keeping a suspiciously close eye on the events unfolding in the northern territories.
Not to be out done, the Third Great Konsol War has entered a relatively calm period, as all parties seem to be gearing up for an even larger conflict. A conflict who’s presence looms ever larger, just over the horizon.
