Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Reggie: No one would want Move when they have Wii

I agree with him (for the most part). I can see a good many people buy the Move who
A) Already own a PS3 (not what Sony wants)
B) Do not have a console at all (part of what Sony wants)

Someone just saying, "We should upgrade to Sony cause we want motion in HD" is a long shot. If there are any Wii-->PS3 moves, it will be more to do with the Blueray Player + Move (in HD) than just the Move itself.

if i had a wii and see Move and its the same, i would use the same reasoning i used to buy my HD tv.... it looks way better than my SD tv

If you are one who cares a lot about that of course you would. Myself I did not bother with a HD tv till my old one that my parents gave me broke. But if you are one to already care about that would you not already have aPS3 or xbox360 for that same reason.

I read the article and I can't disagree with the assertion in the title. I've not been convinced to purchase a PS3 yet and Move certainly hasn't changed my position on this. If PS3 is going after the same market as the Wii then they have to be focusing on people who haven't yet committed to any system because I doubt that Move can convince too many current Wii owners to jump ship.

I don't think that was his point completely and most people who have a Wii over  PS3/xbox360 isn't because they don't care about visuals (it might be a big deal to them), but it's because the Wii has the software and experience they want.  I think if you asked any Wii owner, "if you could have the Wii right now with better graphics, would you?"  Most would say yes, depending on what the price difference would be.

Radha statement was "given two things that are the same (in terms of gameplay here), I'll buy the one that looks better."  Which would be akin to "I'll buy my HDTV because the same programming looks better" or buying a bluray over a DVD.  People do buy HDTVs over SDTVs all the time and I buy blurays almost exclusively because, given the same content, I would like mine to look better if the price isn't too detremental.

EDIT:  I mean that was Reggie's point, the price he states ($400) would be too detrimental for lots of people, but maybe for some who just want the experience first and also would like better graphics, the transition to PS3 + move is ok FOR THEM.  Obviously the more the price goes down the more people fall into that category.

After reading this, the only thing that came to my mind was: Why are all the questions seem like questions from a fanboy dumbass and the Nintendo questions full of logic?

Not familiar with industrygamers, I take it?

No I am, I just have this silly habit of thinking people grow up and learn from mistakes. I know, I'm overly optimistic to borderline naive.

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

As a Wii owner I wouldn't consider paying 400$ to have an imitation of my current console with just better graphics.

Your right I would not say no to a better looking Wii  if in fact it would be the same experience. Unless money was a issue and atm it useually is as I buy to many games!

Of course I too bought my new Hd Tv over a SDTV though it was on sale and kind of cheap.

Anyways I get what you mean. But if my current item is working I would see no reason to get the new one just on looks. That is my only thing with Move. At the moment that is the only big difference. IF it can make itself really stand out (and appealing to me) then of course I would be willing to give it a try if not what kind of gamer would I be

Even if what he says is true...

the fact that he feels the need to say it shows that Ninty are a tad rattled and more than a tad miffed by the whole MOVE thing.

Responding to a question in a logical way of thinking is proof they are scared of Move??

He didn't say scared. "Rattled" & "miffed" translate into jolted and mad/annoyed.

OT: He may be right in the long run, but I'm sure there will be those that have just a Wii and/or a 360 that will be curious about Move.

Ah sorry then Rattled to me = nervous and or scared my bad on that. Anywho I myself am paying attention to the move I hope it takes off for many reasons. I am just not sure it will time will tell.
