Bunch of young'uns in here. Seriously, some of you guys are younger than The Simpsons!

Born in '81, first console was an NES (in '86-87, I forget which exactly). Although I also played games on my family's Apple IIE and later 386.

Man, I loved that NES. I remember wanting to see The Wizard just to see Mario 3. Those were the days! Ahh nostalgia.

Indeed. IMO, retro games > modern games.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Started gaming when I was 4 in 89, my dad had a NES in the house since 87, I tried SMB and he rest is history as they say.

I was too busy not existing and crying for food and changing in the few months of that decade.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Atari 2600, Colecovision and arcades for the first half, NES and arcades for the 2nd half.  I had the Power Glove lol

I was born in 1991, and started gaming pretty much as soon as I could walk and talk. We had a Genesis (or Mega Drive as it is known here) and a Master System. The Master System came with Alex Kidd in Mystery World "installed" on it, so it played that if no cartridge was inserted. Good times.

same but iwas born in 1995 hahaha :P

I started gaming when i was 3 or 4. So only barely did i game in the 80's. I do remember atari and nes fondly.

My first computer was a ZX Spectum +3, good times.

ah, good times.

I remember a company by the name of Tengen that used to publish games on funny looking cartridges for NES. I thought that to be quite awesome at the time lol.

I also remember myself being quite confused when I got my Atari2600 for Christmas....i was thinking...."what the hell is this?? I didn't ask for that.." After playing the game Turmoil a few million times, I am where I am now.

This makes me feel like starting a "Favorite Atari 2600 game" thread.

Yes I was gaming in the 80s. I got my first NES with the first Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda both when I was 3 years old (1987). And from then on, it was pretty much an addiction. Many of my fondest memories in gaming come from playing my NES. Games like Castlevania III, Phantom Fighter, Bugs Bunnys Birthday Blowout and Duck Tales 2. Though some of those didn't come out in the 80s, the NES and the first two games I owned certainly did. And they are a major part of my childhood and why I love gaming.

But I actually had been playing games even before the NES. I can still remember playing the old Atari 2600 for a brief time when I was very young. Games like Pac Man and Star Wars. But soon after I got the NES, my parents got rid of it.
