2 things about this thread:

1. How hard do people think it is to pull the trigger on a handgun? Pretty damn easy actually, especially if the gun is used for target shooting. Also some guns have a "hair trigger" setting where you pull the trigger back halfway and it locks into a position where only a tiny bit of force can cause it to go off. Nervous step dad could have set it to that while searching for the lurking bad guy and then left it there, and then headed to nappy time.

2. As to the safety switch on the gun, certain pistols (some Glocks for example) don't have a switch, just a funky trigger that requires you to cover the whole trigger with your finger to fire.

Damn you beat me to it. Also, I think you're refering to a dual trigger or a security trigger on the glocks.

Also, a lot of guns are made of a combination of plastic and metal parts and these will look like a toy to any 3 year old if they think it's a Wii gun.

I've read about this earlier this morning..... sad, I feel sorry for the young girl.

@adriane23, yep the dual trigger is exactly what I was thinking of. My rather well-armed cousin has a Glock 40, I really don't care for how it fits my hand though. Now his AR-15 on the other hand, that's an amazing piece of hardware, and I'm not really a gun guy. I'll just say this, my very first 25 round clip went (more or less) in a 3 inch radius, and I'm really not that great of a shot. It's a n00b gun!

Oh and LOL at the pink Glock! Yes that looks exactly like what a Wii gun would look like, kinda creepy actually.

Lol my sister wanted one, but I told her if she EVER got a gun I'd throw her out a window.

Poor girl, I feel bad for her
You know, she's 3, not 30, kids tend to think that way and have a high imagination

Red neck piece of shit father.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Stepfather should get manslaughter at the least just for his recklessness. I mean what kind of a fucking retard leaves a loaded gun where a 3 year old can reach it.

That parents should be jailed, the mother is more at fault SHE WAS THE FUCKING ROOM! A little girl lost her life, because her parents have the brains of a small rodent.

There are so many holes in that story. I know it's terrible to think this way but I also believe someone may have wanted the little girl dead. Or the parents really are junkies. Bleh. Either way it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Don't waste your time typing about gun control. This happened in Tennessee.
