Where the fuck is my Earthbound, they can release FFIV but not Mother 2? Goddammit Nintendo.

Don't begrudge it, embrace the FFIV!

Also, I would like to try Earthbound as well. There is much love for that game and I missed out on it.

I don't know why anyone would want to play the easy type version of FF IV when they could play the PS1 remaster, or the DS version. But either way, FFIV is still one of the best in the series.

It's funny cause the VC is killing the value of my SNES collection but I'm totally ok with it.

As mad as people get with the VC, you look at games like:
Final fantasy 2
Secret of Mana
Super Metroid
Final Fight 3
Sin and Punishment
etc

Those games used to run gamers $30+ if they wanted to go back and get a copy. Now for only $8? Sign me up.

All right, that's cool. That's a pretty major game release. You're off the hook this week, Nintendo!

I'm lost here. How is it that FFII is also FFIV?

Final Fantasy IV on the SNES was the second Final Fantasy released in the West, hence it was called Finl Fantasy II when it was localized.

Blame Square.

From Wikipedia since I am too lazy to explain it myself:

Three Final Fantasy installments were released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Final Fantasy was released in Japan in 1987 and in North America in 1990.[2][3] It introduced many concepts to the console RPG genre, and has since been remade on several platforms.[3] Final Fantasy II, released in 1988 in Japan, has been bundled with Final Fantasy in several re-releases.[3][4][5] The last of the NES installments, Final Fantasy III, was released in Japan in 1990;[6] however, it was not released elsewhere until a Nintendo DS remake in 2006.[5]

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) also featured three installments of the main series, all of which have been re-released on several platforms. Final Fantasy IV was released in 1991; in North America, it was released as Final Fantasy II.[7][8] It introduced the "Active Time Battle" system.[9] Final Fantasy V, released in 1992 in Japan, was first in the series to spawn a sequel: a short anime series titledFinal Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals.[3][10][11] Final Fantasy VI was released in Japan in 1994, but it was titled Final Fantasy III in North America.[12]

So FFI is 1, FFII is 4 and FFIII is 6. Oy!

I wonder if they'll do the VC releases of the original Japan only NES and SNES FF games (II, III and V). If so what do they name those now?
