Forums - Sony Discussion - Accordin to this, PS3 has sold 33.5m not 31.7m

Ok there was shortages holiday time then but not now. So couldn't it be the case that Sony SHIPPED extra PS3s after the holidays? That wouldn't be too hard to believe would it? Getting sick of the crying fanboys.

Whatever Sony shipped after the holidays does not count into 3rd quater shipments.

If the data was from December 31st then it's possible some were shipped after December 25th.

face palm yourself please... 2 million units arent going to be shipped in 1 week... maybe 200k.. but not 2 million

Heh. We're all supposed to buy into the idea that some mystical MW2 bump allowed the 360 to suuurge ahead and that the PS3 hadn't been significantly outselling it after all. NPD showed that the PS3 outsold the 360 and that's the 360's strongest territory. That's why this "adjustment" in other territories seem like a wad of bird crap. Do yourself a favor and try not to put too much stock into the numbers of a "Fanalyst".

Sony's current estimate for shipment for the fiscal year is 13 million.

To present, VGC has the amount sold as 11.3 million for the fiscal year.

Seemingly, VGC is very close to the Sony estimate as there are still two months left in the fiscal year. If the PS3 does about 200k per week, then that would add about 1.8 million to the total, which would be slightly above 13 million.

How many people are going to give VGC credit for being so close to Sony's own estimate?

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

I think the numbers were perfectly fine before the adjustments.

But who cares sooner or later the Ps3 will be adjusted up by a big margin, if the data is so off that nobody can deny it. PS3 continues to outsell the Xbox by quite a big margin its just a matter of time.

The numbers do seem to be a bit more generous as to how many 360 consoles are left on shelves out of what they shipped versus how many PS3s are left on shelves out of what they shipped.

Also, imo, It's strange that Nintendo's figures seem to be pointing out how many 360s and PS3s have sold too.

Please explain the nintendo comment, I don't understand
