I still buy movies on DVD/Blu Ray if I really like them, as Netflix and the like have an annoying habit of removing films/shows after a while, so physical ownership means they'll last me decades instead of being whisked away on a whim.

Having said that, I have never in my entire life used a games console to play a DVD or Blu Ray, but that's just me, I've always had a dedicated player for that.

It is a human thing, we may never watch again, but we want that disc in case we decide to watch, and on Netflix and others we are almost certain that when we want to watch it it won't be available.

Exactly. Maybe it hearkens back to our ancient caveman genes that urge us to stockpile resources for survival, but I'd always rather physically own something when that's an option.
