But having your directs at E3 gives that extra exposure/advertisement. There was even 1 year Nintendo only showed 1 game and it still had the most exposure of any other games showed. Why cant Sony do this last year and this year? 

E3 cost money, and companies pay big bucks to rent space and set up their stage events. if people are not showing up but opting to watch at home then you might as well save yourself the cost and do your direct/psx. If Sony did a show at E3 2020 it would help E3 a lot but not being there definitely is a negative blow to E3.  E3 is dead
