Fire Emblem is an SRPG (Strategy RPG), Pokemon is eh... maybe? But it's not a more traditional JRPG like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Persona, Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade, Kingdom Hearts etc.
edit: Wiki says it's "Tactical RPG" not sure when that happened. I swear games like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics used to be called Strategy RPG's.
