Halo is the only confirmed, first-party, big name launch title that we know of. If Microsoft can pull off a great Halo game, that would be very helpful to them at the start of the generation. On the other hand, the fact that we know Halo will be cross-generation kind of runs counter to that. For someone like me, who definitely picks up every Halo on launch day, I don't have to buy their new console to play it. Maybe I will, but I don't have to. If Sony were launching with an exclusive that I must have, that is not playable on PS4, that would be a big check mark in Sony's favor. That might get me to pick up their console first in the next generation.

Anyway, I see Halo: Infinite as crucial to the success of the next Xbox.
