Windows 10 optional update KB4512941 causes high CPU usage, uninstall it to avoid performance issues
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/windows-10-optional-update-kb4512941-causes-high-cpu-usage-uninstall-it-to-avoid-performance-issues/
A few days ago, Microsoft released a brand new optional update for Windows 10. KB4512941 is supposedly addressing numerous issues affecting Remote Desktop, Windows Sandbox and other aspects of Windows 10. However, it appears that this update is also causing major high CPU usage issues.
According to a lot of reports, Cortana’s SearchUI.exe process occupies one whole processor core after applying this update. As such, this will most likely lead to major performance issues. What’s really ironic here is that Cortana’s search on the desktop does not work anymore. So yeah, this is a bug that can – and will – affect your overall experience.
Those that have already downloaded this optional update can either do some changes to their registry or uninstall the update. We highly recommend the latter as it’s not worth messing around with your registry.

Epic revamped the Epic Games Store roadmap to remove target months
https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-revamped-the-epic-games-store-roadmap-to-remove-target-months/
Epic has revamped the Epic Games Store's Trello roadmap so that it no longer organizes features by how many months away they are. Instead, they're divided into "Recently Shipped, "Up Next," and "Future Development."
"We regularly delay feature releases due to shifting priorities and the need for further iteration," Epic said in a post about the change. "We're always focusing on improving, and we believe the Trello can be improved as well."

Take a whirlwind tour through Half-Life 2 in this abridged map jam
https://www.pcgamer.com/take-a-whirlwind-tour-through-half-life-2-in-this-abridged-map-jam/
The Half-Life 2 modding scene is alive, well and doing some exceptionally silly things. Hosted by Map Labs on Mod DB, Half-Life Abridged is the fifth and most recent in a series of themed HL2 mapping contests, challenging entrants to quickly produce a single level based around a specific theme. This time, it was based around the concept of boiling down an entire chapter of Half-Life (1 or 2) into a single bite-sized level, perfect for the Free Man on the go.

Doom 2016 fell through a time-warp and became a DOS-compatible mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/doom-2016-fell-through-a-time-warp-and-became-a-dos-compatible-mod/
What would Doom (2016) look like if it came out twenty-three years ago? And just how old would that make you feel to see it in action? Doom 4 Vanilla, released yesterday, is an impressive 'demake' mod for Doom 2 that boils down everything it can from Id Software's series reboot while adhering to the limits of Doom circa 1993. That means new monsters, guns, music, art and levels. It's an impressive package.

Cyberpunk 2077 may only feature first-person cut-scenes [UPDATE: Confirmed]
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/cyberpunk-2077-may-only-feature-first-person-cut-scenes/
Cyberpunk 2077 was advertised as a TPP/FPP game. While a first-person perspective will be used for gameplay, the cut-scenes were meant to be using a third-person camera. However, that may not be the case anymore as CD Projekt RED hints at abandoning that concept. Instead, Cyberpunk 2077 appears to be using now only the first-person perspective in everything.
UPDATE: CD Projekt RED has just confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will only feature first-person cut-scenes.
