Well not really, cause if you buy DLC for the original game your saved data doesn't just stop working.

GOTY saved data not working with the original is understandable, the opposite isn't. For some reason the GOTY edition is treated as a seperate game on PS4, even the trophy list is separate.

Well I guess that makes sense also.  Its also treated as a separate game on X1 even though both have 78 achievements and 2000GS if you include all the DLC for the original version.
