They will instead be replaced by overused legendaries that happen to be available in that game, and non-megaas with gamebreaking abilities.
That being said, I'm just as pissed as everyone else, and GF just made it extremely easy for me to pass on these games and wait for the $60 DLC oops I meant third/ultra version, but a game without Lando is a point in GF's favor.
This is the equivalent of modern fighting games having characters on its rosters for years or across several games, then suddenly taking those characters off of the base game roster and forcing loyal fans to buy them seperately as DLC. Only there's no guarantee that these fighters will be available at all, ever.
Also, if any one of Rotom's forms is the worst of your problems, then you're living a pretty good life.
