I'm sure someone has already said this somewhere in this thread, but I'm not reading through 250 comments to find it.....

there are two, very obvious, primary factors for this increase in sales of their first party title. First, is the fact that their systems has sold much better than last gen. that's obviously of critical importance to selling more games.

But, the other major factor, and the more interesting ones, at least to me, is that the quality of their games has greatly increased. Pretty much every AAA title they publish is 85+ metascore, and just generally very good, if not great. And, when people have confidence that every game you put your name on is going to be good, they tend to buy your games.

As a person that plays on all platforms, I hope that Microsoft will step up and join Sony and Nintendo with consistently great first party games. I am cautiously optimistic that they will get there soon. It will be a great era for gaming if they do (assuming Sony and Nintendo continue with their consistent quality).
