Are individual indies major system sellers? Not likely. Are the combination of dozens of high quality indies a system seller? Potentially.

Games like Rocket League, Celeste, Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, Stardew Valley, Overcooked, Golf Story, etc have gotten alot of attention on Switch and most indies these days sell significantly more on Switch than other platforms, often more than all other platforms combined. For many of these games its also the only portable platform and many indie games are perfect for on the go gaming.

While this is true..... its also true that everything ets scaled up with each new gen. Chances are that there will be indie games made fr the PS5/XBn that also just won't run on the NS.

Highly unlikely though as indie developers will focus maximizing their reach and sales so ensuring their games works on the NS will be a priority.

"The NS will not be able to play probably around 95% of the games released for the PS5 So how can they be competing with eachother?"

Do you want to go back and change this to include some *'s? such as "95% of the library (not including indie games and only including AAA games or those produced by Sony) will not run on the Switch." That statement would then be somewhat correct, as it stands what you posted in http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8961001 in that paragraph I've quoted in its entirety is absolutely wrong, without a shadow of a doubt without even the need of a time machine or a psychic it's just wrong.

I won't go back and change what I said. Cause then all you have been saying will become baseless.

It was an honest oversight on my part, but when I said 95% of games on those platforms I was not thinking of or considering indie games.

I am referring to AAA games. The games that will make the most of the PS5/XBn hardware. The games that won't even be able to run on a PS4/XB1.

Yeah so like I said you're talking about 95% of less than 30-40% of the PS5's library meaning somewhere in the region of 28-37% of the PS5 titles would be those which require significant work to be ported to the Switch.

Sources for numbers would be

As of this article which lists the games up as far as Nov 2017 there was over 917 indie titles on the PS4

https://www.finder.com.au/gaming/playstation-4-indie-games

and on Wiki the total list of games on or coming to the PS4, this list is 1857 games long, of which 263 titles are either not released or were not released as of Nov 2017 when the article was giving the indie numbers, this means that of the 1594 games on the system at the time 917 of them were indie titles or another way to look at it 677 of them were not directly classified as indie games or 42% of the library is "not indie" Just means that right off the bat you'll see the same ratios of indie games on the PS5 because indie games are nice easy impulse buys which have proven to do very well on consoles, also the ps5's AAA games are likely to have an even longer dev time and be less frequent than they are on the PS4 so the ratio will be much more in favor of indie : AAA, just yeah the math of it right now should show that 58% of the library of the current machine is indie and considering those games run on PC's with onboard graphics cards or Mobile phones hardware will never be an issue for that type of project.

But if you want to alter the statement to not include 58% of the consoles library, then there might be some credence to it.
