but couldn’t someone different write a new script that still adheres to and follows on from the storylines set up in the previous films? I know it would still most probably suck, but bigwigs don’t care about stuff like that... In a way It’d defeat the purpose of Disney publicly dissociating themselves from Gunn if they were then gonna go and release a movie with his name in the credits anyway. Might as well have kept him on (personally I hope they do use his script and get a decent director to take over....the guardians were handled well in infinity war so there is hope)...
