Combat being easy depends on your difficulty. Playing normal and easy will be relatively easy. If you're looking for a tough time play on hard or very hard, its way harder than any Souls game. Zelda combat on the other hand is not just easy but also infuriating over longer stretches of time because of how quickly weapons degrade. Zelda doesn't have nearly as much mechanical complexity to the combat and enemy variety as God of War. God of War is a hack and slash game whose combat I'd say rivals the likes of Bayonetta 2 by the end game. Zelda is no match for it combat wise.
The story is amazing for me and most people. Atreus is a child, I don't think you know how kids are like though Atreus is less annoying than almost any kid I know. The story itself is damn amazing, way better than any Naughty Dog game and generations ahead of what BOTW's non existant story does.
I have no problem if you don't like GOW as much as Zelda, but if you're going to say its worse for some reasons pick the right reasons atleast. You could have said Zelda has better puzzles and does many new things while God of War perfects existing mechanics in various genres and that Zelda will be remembered more because of that and I agree. I say this as I pick Zelda for my GOTY 2017 and God of War as my GOTG and maybe it ends up being my GOAT though its not had the impact that Dark Souls did.

Slow down, there. Game has been out for less than a week and you've already deemed it your game of the generation, and possibly best game of all time. I'm going to type out a more thorough reply in the other thread, as I like this debate.
