"Dude, I wrote all that because it's SENSE!!!"

Stating facts isn't nonsense. Writing ridiculous comments and then pretending like you're the bearer of all knowledge? That is.

"They are just facts, man, plain and simple."

No ... they aren't? Using facts in a "plain and simple" manner is an average Pemalite comment. Not a StreaK reply. I think people are confusing referencing a fact once with just stating facts "plain and simple". They are not the same thing.

"I acknowledged already elsewhere that I think the numbers the Switch is pulling are great! "

Are you just going to ignore the part in my comment where I address this? : " I wrote that comment assuming you'd want to try and remain reasonable and fair, because on some odd occasions you seem to have that attitude in mind."

But your logic is constantly inconsistent, it would be one thing if your attitude just changed over the past months but you are constantly doing this, where you say you're just interested in hardware debate but then post something equivalent too "OH PHEW I was so worried PS4 was being beat for a minute but now that you brought that up HAHA you're right bro no way Playstation 4 is losing haha!" or "WOW some of you Switch FANBOYS!!O!!O!" or literally any comment in a VGChartz article where you agree with someone who's making a comment with the intent of downplaying a platform by saying "Dude people are so offended the truth hurts bro!!!11!!!!1!". I mean goddamn I know that numbers and exclamation points meme is so stupid but it really does accurately depict what your attitude seems to be on a lot of threads. If someone is just occasionally not being one sided that tends to mean that  their true intention is different than what's rarely being communicated. I'm not saying you're doing this on purpose but it seems like you have occasional moments where you can't control your preferences and just make bad comments because of it. You also seem very insecure about platform success.

"My problem is with all the "Nintendo guys" (and yes, that's how I'll be referring to them now) coming together and kissing Nintendo's ass like they just pulled off the greatest thing ever."

So when do you ever argue with Kerotan, or any other PS "guy" that goes around doing nothing but hyping up their  companies? Because unless you link me to multiple occasions, I've never seen it. And yeah, I hate it when people just dicksuck companies too. But honestly? I don't see that at all on this thread. Most of the people praising Nintendo aren't even Nintendo sided users and the ones that are are making relatively tame comments.

Here's some comments on this thread:

"No numbers to add context? Congrats to nintendo for achieving that. I hope that it keeps it up. " -Aelous451

"A big congratulations to Nintendo. Surpassing Wii in the same timeframe is quite the feat. " - GuyDuke

"Launch timing favors Switch here because unlike most other consoles it entered its first post-launch holiday season sooner. So whereas other consoles' month 9 and 10 were the slow July and August, Switch had November and December. However, if the timeframe of comparison were extended to a full 12 months to include all months of the year for all consoles, it wouldn't change that Switch is #1." - RolStoppable

"I don't get why Nintendo always ignore the GBA in those dichiarations... like, when Switch launched, they said Wii was the previus faster seller Nintendo console, when GBA pretty much obliterate Wii launch. And now too, Switch is not at GBA level. Actually, not even close. First 10 months GBA sold over 5.8 million, Switch is at only 4.8 million. " - Ryng_Tolu

"Well it's to be expected. The switch had a launch month and 2 holiday months in its first 10 months while other console usually launch in November and only get the launch boosts from November and some holiday sales from December. Would be more surprising If this is true when the Switch has been out for 12 months. " -jason(numbers)

I mean look, I'm not going to read the whole damn thread for you. But I tried to pick a decent amount of nintendo-sided users, neutral users, and users who might be more playstation oriented. But ultimately that's only based on what I know of the users. I could be wrong, maybe they all have Mario shrines in their closets. But do any of these comments - in any context - really sound like "kissing Nintendo's ass"? Hell no. I wouldn't even think most of these people are Nintendo .... "guys" .... if I had read just these comments alone. But even if  there's one or two users, so what? That's the same on every forum here.

Honestly, you perceiving this as some big fan cult worship is just you reflecting your insecurities about a company or fanbase.

"Many can't seem to comprehend that both consoles are performing amazingly and that is a fine thing. "

So why did you randomly come into this thread to make fun of people for congratulating a company's success?

"Lot's of people just want to have THE winner!"

A direct quote from you And yes, I'll stop laughing now but I'll continue chuckling hehe...I'm not nervous at all here. In fact, I'm all too confident Switch won't even come close to PS4 total worldwide numbers. "

"So yeah, when the Nintendo guys try to put down the PS4's success I'll be there bringing them back to reality. Because reality is the Switch won't come close to touching the PS4. PS3 vs 360 - THAT kinda level of close. If a console sells 20+ million more units than it's a clear winner."

..................Wow........................................

"Call me anything you want, man. Words don't hurt me."

I literally did not call you anything and I didn't say anything that was meant to hurt you. I know your reply would have been "But you said something I said was pathetic". Yeah, it was. That's not an insult at you it's criticizing an idea you wrote through text with honest terminology.

"You could have just said, "yeah, we get it!" and be done with it."

You wrote wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more than me. Your reply to my small joke was 301 characters. My reply to that was 218. Your reply to that was 391. You could have "just said" anything and/or walked away but you didn't, and decided to elaborate. As it turns out internet, elaborating on your replies cause other people to elaborate, and I'm not ashamed to elaborate. And considering your reply to an obvious joke, I think you need to take your own advice.

Look dude, I wasn't pretending to be anything. You're just downplaying something I said as nonsense when it's just simple truth. Europe MATTERS! A lot. Obviously this shouldn't have to be news to anyone lol. I'm not trying to be anyone. I just want to remind people what Europe can do to the numbers and well, PS does so well in the European/others regions. The examples I have used with Titanic/Avatar and heck even the PS3 vs X360; one can only look up those results and the numbers ( yep they are facts because it actually happened) speak for themselves. I'm just stating something that yes INDEED is simple - Europe is huge and I can't stress it enough. And to me, which is my OPINION, Europe is the deciding factor whether PS4 will be on top or not based on the examples I have used. I have the right to feel that way based on what I know about Europe.

I really have nothing against Nintendo. I hate Microsoft but really have nothing against anyone preferring Xbox. I honestly don't care what anyone prefers. It's their choice. Heck, I didn't buy the Wii because everyone else did, come on now. Yes, I happen to be a Sony guy because ever since the PS1 the PS has been my main console of choice. Anyway, my aggressive attitude will come through when someone is clearly putting out information that benefits their preferred console. "Ohhh, the Switch is killing the PS4". And I see much more of this positive Nintendo side than I do for PS4, so it just comes naturally to me....wait a minute, the PS4 IS doing extremely well, did I just miss something here. How is the switch exactly killing it? I can go on and on about this but it would require too much text (it's all psychological babble) ...basically I'll simplify it by just stating, the comments I see that are like "wow, the switch is really competing with the PS4 with its massive sales" or "the PS4 looks like it has some competition due to how well Switch is selling" tells me that BOTH these consoles are performing well and there is no point in angering anyone over it. Sure, I'm guilty of it too - PS4 PREVAILS! But I'll admit, I'm asking for the down votes...

The winning thing of course included myself, as well. It was just a statement that many people would like to see their preferred product come out on top. Honestly, in the end, it doesn't bother me. I guess what bothers me is I think many people here are annoyed that Sony does well. Based on some of the comments I have read in the articles and the reactions I read to people making cool comments about the PS4, well, it just speaks volumes to me. Everything about the PS4 gets washed away...you can't even speak about the PS4 without getting down voted lol. You wanna talk about pathetic??? I only started commenting here again based on these kinds of remarks. So yeah, let's bring in  some PS4 love to the site and see how that goes.

Hey, thanks for the laugh btw - those over-exaggerated comments I have made? I'll let it slide, but at least they made a point. I'll admit it can be childish to a degree, but it was INTENDED to be so. It was kinda like, see...I CAN DO THAT TOO! How does THAT feel? Ridiculous, right? That's pretty much what it is.

Also, the lengthy posts? Well, as pointless as it may have been to you I had to remind you and others how powerful the WORLD is as a whole. Yeah, there's many (in the US lol) who will want to believe it's all about America. I'm just saying, America is now turning out to be a little chunk of the overall equation. Also, I still believe the Switch is pulling these numbers in the US mainly due to having an unheard of not one but TWO 97-scoring AAA games on launch. Many consoles don't even get 1 at launch. PS4 did similarly without anything to really rave home about. So that's why it may seem like I am making fun of Nintendo. PS4 is reaching its sales momentum NOW. What will Switch be like years down the road. Well, we'll see....

But whatever, I'm kinda back out for a bit now. I'll let the battle continue. In the end, nothing really matters. Just enjoy your thing. ;) I'll be back when the PS4 is declared the "winner" lol. Let's just wait and see.

Man, I can't believe I had to type all that but I really had no choice this time. I hate quoting lengthy posts.

Quick reply but from reading through the thread, there are two things I want to point out.

Switch's Early Success Means Future Success

The console business is momentum based. Usually, if you get out the door running, you'll have a successful console. Even in situations where the manufacturer turns it around, it's mostly negligible. The 3DS is a good example of that. After a lackluster launch, Nintendo cut the price by $80 which saved the system. Even still, after 7 years it's only sold about 70 million. The GBA sold 80 million despite only getting about 4 years on the market.

Because the Switch is selling so well in Japan and the US, major publishers are going to be rushing to get games on it. We are already seeing this in Japan and it will likely happen very soon in the US. With news that Switch is the fastest selling console, don't be surprised if the next earnings releases from major US publishers mention that they are making games for the Switch.

This is the momentum. A strong selling console builds an install base. The big install base attracts developers who make more games. More games drive the install base. Even though everyone clamors that the Wii didn't have a lot of third party support, it did get a lot of third party games. It was just that developers often treated them as side projects due to "third party games don't sell on Wii." This isn't the case on Switch with DOOM, Skyrim and Sonic Mania (among others) selling well on the Switch. It will get tons of games that will drive the install base. This is the big takeaway that no one is talking about.

Switch Will Outsell PS4 because Europe is not enough

I don't know why people are still claiming PS4 will outsell Switch worldwide? The Switch is outselling the PS4 in Japan (I think it's at around 40-50% of PS4's LTD sales). It's selling faster than the PS4 in the US. Outselling Switch in Europe won't be enough to put PS4 over Switch. The PS4 would have to sell more than Switch there by a greater margin than Switch outsell PS4 in both Japan and the US. It's not going to happen. Look at the 360. It crushed the PS3 in the US but because it couldn't sell in Japan or Europe (outside of the UK), it was outsold by PS3 worldwide. This is the same scenario here. I don't know why people still think PS4 can beat Switch.

Ummm, Xbox literally had NO sales in Japan and the Switch will not be a CLEAR champion in the US but will most likely (just based on MY personal opinion - I really gotta point that out hehe) have a healthy lead in Europe. So yeah, say what you will but there is no way I'm going to believe the Switch will beat the PS4's WW. Just no way. I can't wait to find out, though. :)
