Its one of the ugliest games I've played on X1.

It's not looker on PC either. Even with everything on Ultra.

First of all, there is some really bad pop in issues. Muddy textures take time to load or simply don't load properly. When skydiving the map itself appears to be missing textures, jarring pop in, etc. While exploring the map I though I ran into some horribly designed burned building, but after awhile a normal building just popped in while I was in it.

I didn't experience any pop in on my PC, but having the game installed on a pair of RAID SSD's and having multiples more Ram than the Xbox helps in that regard.

But that is truly terrible.

Even when everything is loaded properly, the game is still kinda ugly. The textures look like last gen and shadows on surfaces are low quality and are essentially dots. It seems when you look closely at everything, it just looks bad. The game probably looks its best when you're exploring an open area with lots of foliage and it looks crisp because of 1080p.

If we're going by average though, the game generally feels like 30 fps.

Allot of assets feel last gen, honest, I don't think allot of people would have cared if the rendering resolution was decreased in favor of an increase in asset quality.

Either way... It's still like trying to polish a turd. (1080P isn't something I would regard as crisp either. :P)

I agree on the foliage part, when you land and all the grass and stuff loads in... It doesn't look too bad, it helps that it does hide the low quality terrain textures though. :P

I can't help but think they should have stole the idea of PUBG and use Gears or Halo. It would be a better game and no marketing deal required! But I guess that's what MS paid for, a big name title to boast about for awhile. It may have been worth the money as well because people are certainly buying it.

They still might yet.

I would not complain if there was a Halo Warzone with 100+ players. But I doubt the consoles have the appropriate CPU capability to pull that off this generation. Especially while trying to retain 60fps.

We havent reached a point where 1080p is blurry. Frankly, I still dont mind 720p, effects help make that look better. Anything south of that kinda bugs me though.

They could improve some effects in PUBG with a lower resolution, but I dont think it would fix muddy textures and pop in. Thats a CPU and RAM issue. Maybe the game engine eats so much RAM the X1 has little left for textures? Meanwhile the X1X has better textures.

I hiighly doubt the Gears 4 (60 fps PvP) and Halo 5 engine could handle 100 players at 60 fps, but I would gladly take 30 fps for experience in either. Fornite appers to do it at a stable 30 fps and higher.
