Edit: This part of my response was a joke. I'm sure you've played just as many games as me.
For their time they were for sure. I think they are good games, but coming off of SM64, and OoT they just seemed so dissapointing. IMO Galaxy moved the bar forward for 3D Mario Games, and BotW has done it for Zelda.
