1. Armored Core
2. Souls (of From Development, not the genre)
3. Shin Megami Tensei
4. Persona (yeah, it ain't the same as the above)
5. Disgaea
Honorable mention - Final Fantasy, which really went downhill for the most part, Metal Gear, which I haven't played the 5th game of, but love otherwise.
