Very difficult, but here goes
1. Mario

This list is PURE consistency. Game after game and you're getting good content only. I'd put in Mario Kart or Mario and Luigi, but I don't think that's fair.
Nintendo series are always mentioned as some of the best due to them understanding the value of an IP. They truly deserve the rights for their IP's with the amount of positive recognition they get from people nowadays
