15k last year vs 18k this year same week...
Personally, I expected New 2ds xl anticipation to hurt the sales of New 3ds xl which is the main selling model!
New 2ds xl saves you 6000 yen ( is cheaper by 5000 yen and includes the ac unlike new 3ds xl ) , and it's best 3ds ever!

*Fairly thinner and a bit smaller
*No glossy lid and bottom cover
* Catridge slot cover, protection from dust for the slot and occasional shocks for the catridge
* No gap when the lid is closed
*Micro SD slot next to catridge slot instead of under the screwed bottom cover
*More durable hinges
