Yep if he wins this referendum it pretty much means whatever Erdogan says goes in Turkey. Which would also mean tourism from EU to Turkey would significantly decline. It wasn't great in 2016 but when he becomes dictator Turkey's economy will probably suffer.

Tourism is not a huge factor for the economy and it is already in huge decline for the last few years anyways. This won't change much for the people but Erdogan will keep his position for the rest of his life. Actually, the more suffering there is, more votes go to Erdogan so the economy getting worse works for him.

Between 2012 and 2015 the tourism industry was in fact growing in Turkey. After a series of terrorist attacks, the coupe and Erdogan lashing out at Europe it declined massively to an almost insignificant portion of the economy.

This industry is however very labourintensive so unemployment still takes a big hit from this industry declining further. Which Erdogan can blame on EU somehow. Which makes him even more popular with the yes voters which think EU is planning a new era crusade to Turkey. Anyway the AKP party is in general popular by the lower class. So if it goes worse with Turkey and he can successfully blame that on the rest of the world the support for him will become greater each year.
